What Is CO2 Tolerance?

In order to understand CO2, you have to understand this idea of chemo reception in our brain. There are these small cells called chemo receptors that are specifically tuned to detecting changes in pH level of the blood and cerebral spinal fluid. What ends up happening is if they detect the pH becoming more acidic, they start firing. And that's what's triggering the sphere response. That'sWhat's triggering our respiration. This is how the nervous system is wired. It's not wired to detect oxygen. It's wired to detect CO2 and modulate our breathing accordingly.
