The Psychodrama Between Putin and Pragosian
Former petty criminal became Putin's caterer as it were. Kremlin wanted to have some official distance from including setting up the Wagner mercenary group which is allowed Russia to pursue conflicts around the world while claiming that it's officially not involved. So Pragosian is a man really of Putin's creation and Putin's style of leadership has always been to play his minions off against each other, you know, divide and conquer,. keep everyone else weak and you'll be the strong and a peacemaker. But in this instance he really misjudged it and he gave Pragosian a lot of power, a lot of rope.
