The Failure of David Cameron

David Cameron created a time for a change moment. He looked like he was quite good at being prime minister. But actually he was rubbish at it because he blew himself up. The lobby in particular just has some evaluative sort of metric that isn't really looking at whether or not this is the right person to do the most important job in politics. I have this dating theory of politics where the whole thing is about being on a date with somebody. If I were your PM, I'd be the kind of prime minister who would look smart and had had a shower and was interested in whatever it was that you wanted to talk about.
