The New Plays - A New Look at the Audience
Theatre could seet up to 700 people, which was much more intimate than later on in the eighteenth century. The authors of the new plays didn't actually get paid until the third night of performance. It must be like doing gangles on a friday night. Col a set of stag and head parties in in on, just having suc as yell all your jokes. That could just be a lot of wink its t it is not surprising that there is so much addressing of the audience.
