Linda and her colleagues were trying to tease out the effect that moral convictions might have on people's views about supreme court decisions. Linda found that lots of people accepted the ruling of the supreme court even if they disagreed with it. And we find this again and again, that when people have morally convicted policy preferences, they don't care how those policy preferences or outcomes are achieved. They just care that they are achieved. If it takes lying or cheating to achieve that outcome, that's fine....
