Jihad reflects this very, very exclusive notion of who is in and who is out of the political community. Even most moslems are not actually kind of really Moslem, according to the logic of a group like the aslomic state,. They have kind of been cast outside the bounds. So it's this very interesting tension of something that's both like expansive on the one hand and a very narrow an exclusionary on the other hand.
