Is the Internet Killing Your Memory?

New technologies like g p s and the internet are affecting our memories. But is it because we can look up everything that we want on google? I mean, you know, you don't have to remember the multiplication tables any more - just go to Google. My read on the literature is that the situation isn't as dire as asumsuma make it out to be. And i think there is no doubt evidence that when we rely on a technology, our memory for a particular task can be impacted in a negative way.
