The Role of Corruption in Capitalism
In many ways corruption lies at the heart of capitalism. The acquisition of property itself as Mark said was a highly violent and blood soaked act. Because you have the law it's sort of somehow condones and makes it seem as a more socially constructed as a kind of morally right thing to do. So all of this doesn't go by the name of corruption. That's only a much more readily available discourse in the global south because of colonialism and post-colonial development. But so what if we actually started using that language to talk about wealth hoarding and wealth accumulation especially through real estate but also through infrastructure and all kinds of things in the global north?
