The Price of Admission to a Meaningful Life
There is a really beautiful quote by Susan David, who's a psychologist. She says discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life. And so, we do want to be exposing ourselves to uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and sensations. That allows us to achieve what it is that we want to achieve. So I think it's important to distinguish a traumatic re-experiencing flashback or dissociation or a panic attack that occurs in the context of significant grief or significant trauma. Can I stay with that instead? And work through that so I keep heading in the direction that I want to in my life.
