The Function of Reasoning in Communication

The function of reasoning is to provide and evaluate arguments in communication. It can, under certain conditions, cause a group of people indeed to converge towards the truth. Under other conditions, it can create summarization. The reason with the same views will just become more fanatical. If anything, they will be more persuaded than they were before. And again, there's both historical and experimental evidence to that effect.
