The Humanist Tribute to the US
By the 70s, there's this growing critique among conservative, fundamentalist and evangelicals that there's a secular humanist threat. Some of the big figures from that era were dispensationalist people like Jerry Falwell. Tim LaHaye developed what he called a pre-tribulation tribulation. And so they rallied around a political platform to stave off the humanist tribulation.
