The seven wonders of the ancient world include China, Petra and the Christ. Machu Picchu was built in 1450 AD; Chichen Itza wasn't until 600 AD. What we're talking about today is the seven wonders of our world as defined by us. The list can be anything from modern technology to old-fashioned things.
