As is usual towards the end of a tragedy in Shakespeare's time the scenes shorten which indicate to us the modern readers that there would have been a lot of traffic on the stage. We see prince malcom Duncan's son build an army in england and the Scottish nobles join both malcom and macduff in marching against Macbeth. The soldiers in camped in Burnhamwood are ordered to cut down branches and carry them up the hill so as to camouflage their numbers, thus one of the prophecies is already coming true. In act five scene five Macbeth is informed that lady Macbeth has killed herself and we have one of the most famous speeches in all of Shakespeare
