Scientists and full time data designers are speaking the same language in a way that i haven't seen to this extent in the last 20 odd years working with scientists and artists. War min stripes by d hawkins, which debued and garnered attention in 20 18, but really grained traction as a science communication and engagement tool in 20 19. Data for black lives and its executive director, yashima bet milner. Action towards decolonizing health data by abigail echo hack. And visualizing uncertainty, by folks including jessica holman, matthew k and lace pedia.
Hi everyone! We are once again at the end of a whole year. After having “end of the year episodes” with other podcasters, going around the world, and chatting with Andy and Robert, we decided to try something different this time: we asked a group of data visualization professionals to send us an audio snippet summarizing what happened in specific areas of the field over the last year. The result is a great multifaceted collage of stories and personalities. See below who we have interviewed and what they talked about.
