The US Military Base in Okinawa
On October 21st, there was a huge rally to protest this incident and protest US military bases. The people of Okinawa also placed a full page ad in the New York Times,. And then in 1996, the United States and Japan signed a bilateral agreement to reduce the amount of land on Okinawa covered by US bases by 21%. So some change did come from this.
