The organoid cultures are much more active in terms of calcium signaling than the monolayer cultures. This is because they have this diversity of cell type, which does not exist in a simple monolayer culture. We can see a lot of different kinds of signals in cell lines, but cell lines are an artificial system. And we always have to go back to the more biologically relevant kind of system as much as possible.
