On their third day, they were back on Interstate 40 heading west again. The reds and oranges of the desert were like nothing they'd ever seen before. A few hours later, they arrived at the first national park of their trip, Petrified Forest. By dinner time, they made it to a friend's home in New Mexico having driven 1200 miles in under 24 hours.
