The police start looking for JJ because the extended family are worried that they haven't seen him for months. In January 2020, the court orders Laurie to produce her kids, and she doesn't do that. And in June 2020, they find human remains in Chad's property of JJ and of Tylie,. Tylie's extremely burnt and mutilated. So that's basically the background behind it all.
