How to Slow a Ship in Motion
If you can accelerate at 1G indefinitely one week for every 2% of light speed, faster burns are better slower much worse though much less visible. Now an inevitable point someone would raise is that such civilizations have the ability to not only throw huge armadas out to you but potentially growing ones too. This might be easy enough to do, your fuel might just be something hyperabundant like deuterium and you stop to resupply or pick up raw material to replicate but it does take time to slow down. As an example spinning up some sail of graphene just a few atomic widths thick and hundreds of kilometers wide might only cost you a few tons of available manner on your ship
