The Refusal to Admit Any Trade-Offs
I find the refusal to admit any trade-offs absolutely baffling. Like David Davis in 2016 said that there was no downside only considerable upside to this. It therefore means that you have to pretend that these sorts of things, which are very obvious consequences of getting friction into a system that was previously frictionless. I remember Jacob Rees-Mogg realistically stating that, yeah, Brexit is a multi-decade project to remake the British state in its entirety. And well, I don't agree with that project. Although, like, what did people think that it was? Yeah, really.
