The History of Religion and Philosophy
A lot of philosophy departments, the faculty were originally in religion departments. And n its attempt to differentiate itself from theology, it also exiled a bunch of the world into this category religion. To call something o religion is often to relativize it and accuse somebody else of dogmatism or faith. All that is to say, the historical formation of categories of religion and philosophy have been both intersecting and sep ing in ways historically that are profoundly problematic.
