Exploring Evangelical Politics and Immigration Narratives
This chapter examines the relationship between evangelicals and the Republican Party, focusing on its evolution during the 1970s and 80s. It also addresses the broader immigration narrative and aims to foster a deeper understanding amidst complex cultural debates.
The Bulletin talks about churches that preserve endangered languages, the evolution of pro-life ambitions, and DeepSeek and artificial intelligence.
This week’s headlines spur us to discuss how the church is uniquely poised to help endangered languages and cultures survive, with CT’s Emily Belz and Nicole Martin. Then, we welcome Charlie Camosy to discuss abortion in the second Trump administration. Finally, we welcome CT’s president, Tim Dalrymple, to talk about DeepSeek and AI.
GO DEEPER WITH THE BULLETIN:
ABOUT THE BULLETIN:
The Bulletin is a weekly (and sometimes more!) current events show from Christianity Today hosted and moderated by Clarissa Moll, with senior commentary from Russell Moore (Christianity Today’s editor in chief) and Mike Cosper (director, CT Media). Each week, the show explores current events and breaking news and shares a Christian perspective on issues that are shaping our world. We also offer special one-on-one conversations with writers, artists, and thought leaders whose impact on the world brings important significance to a Christian worldview, like Bono, Sharon McMahon, Harrison Scott Key, Frank Bruni, and more.
ABOUT THE GUESTS:
Timothy Dalrymple studied at Stanford University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Dalrymple was a key player in the launch of patheos.com, and he pioneered many of the techniques that led Patheos to become the world’s largest platform for multireligious conversations. Dalrymple currently serves as Christianity Today’s president and CEO.
Nicole Martin serves Christianity Today as chief impact officer after serving on its board of directors. Martin oversees three major strategic initiatives that are shaping the future of CT: the Global Initiative, the Big Tent Initiative, and the Next Gen Initiative.
Emily Belz is a staff writer with Christianity Today. She is a former senior reporter for World magazine. She is a World Journalism Institute graduate and also previously reported for the New York Daily News, The Indianapolis Star, and Philanthropy magazine. Emily resides in New York City.
Charles Camosy is professor of Medical Humanities at the Creighton University School of Medicine. He is also the author of Peter Singer and Christian Ethics: Beyond Polarization and For Love of Animals: Christian Ethics, Consistent Action, which was featured on The Dish and in The New York Times.
