The straightforward and paradoxical cosbenefit analysis is one of the first cognitive therapy techniques I created way back in the 1970s. It's really a motivational technique, but it can really be mind-bendingly effective when cognitive techniques are failing. You list all the advantages of believing that and giving yourself that message and all the disadvantages. And then you balance balance them in two circles at the bottom,. put two numbers that add up to 100 is 50, 50, 60, 40, 40, 60. What feels greater to you?
