Bank's private lending is not very well advanced. They have a little bit of private lending early in the 16, late 1600s, early 1700s but it doesn't really take off. So one thing they're not doing so much is borrowing money from the bank. But they're also there to buy and sell government debt. It's probably the main place where you could do that throughout most of the 18th century.
