The Quest Away, Why Did You Stay?

I often quote this, a quotation that's attributed to g. K. Chesterton, that the worst moment for an atheist is when he feels a deep sense of gratitude and has no one to thank. And for the first time, i did have a sense of gratitude about the goodness of the world. I had had a good dose of the badness of the world, but now the goodness, where did that come from? And you ask the quest away, why did you stay? There are as many as 25 to 30 million ex evangelicals out there. Maybe most of them still have kind of a nastalgia, a whimsy.
