The Importance of Honesty in Predictions
The act of saying for six quarters from now, I expect the economic situation to look like X is an extremely difficult task. 99 out of 100 economists say wage and price controls in the early 1970s are bulk economic quackery. And so do you create this situation because of all of these, the ridiculousness of it, keeping policy at 0% rates when home prices were zooming? That's problematic. If there needs to be a happy medium, that would be the concern.
