The Implications of Not Building Affordable Housing
The only time in the last 25 years that the council actually went around the member, happened about a year ago. I don't love those odds. When you pick up the newspaper every day and you see that Renson Manhattan and Brooklyn are the highest record ever when you see that folks are leaving New York because they can't find a place to live. There are implications, real life implications for not building housing. This plan has enormous amounts of affordable housing. But unfortunately, the way things work in this city, it's more than a two-step process. Unless this gets voted on by the council, then it of course can't get approved.
