The Mangy Mut Who Would Howl
Walt whitman's name was so undistinguished he didn't even bother putting it on the cover. He wasn't looking for a pedigreed purebred who could bark on command. He was looking for a mangy mut who would howl. We'll hear more about that howl, or, as whitman might have put it, a barbaric yap. If you're going to go for broke, it helps if you've been broke and know what it means to be broke.
