The Most Perfect Thing, Inside and Outside a Birds Egg
Birds evolved from reptiles and birds are a continuation of the dinosaur line. Most reptiles still lay eggs, crocodile eggs, turtle eggs, there are snake eggs. A bird egg shell has an extra layer of calcium that makes it rigid,. It was a very specialized egg with a shell that allowed vertebrates to colonize habitats away from water.
