The Synapses Are the Places Where Memory Lives

The idea that you have memory of the synapses came a little bit later, and hebbian plasticity is probably the most famous. But it turns out that many other things are also plastic, and in particular, the intrinsic properties of neurons. So now when neuroscience talk about plasticity, they really are talking about plasticity of the circuit, not just the synapses.
