We tend to think of ourselves as clean, socialised creatures living in civilisation. And we actively repress in all of our rituals and social conduct. That's why we have bathrooms where we don't shit in front of each other. It's an act of denying the very biological grounding that we come from. The old ego is kind of like the facade you use to fit into the existing culture. You came up and developed in these conditions where this instrument served you well. But once you exit that culture, it doesn't like you. I'm sorry. This same facade causes you misfitness. I don't like you either. You just watch yourself.
