Dark Matter Is Transparent and Intangible

Dark matter doesn't feel the electromagnetic forces. It passes through normal matter without clumping. And so that makes it really hard to slow down. So it's just going to swirl around the galaxy forever. We don't know what dark matteris made out of, but we've never seen it have any kind of interaction other than gravity.
