What Did Jesus Do With the Twelve?

In the New Testament, we know that John the Baptist had disciples from a couple of places in the scripture. The rabbis of the day did exactly what Jesus was doing with the Twelve, very same thing. Here's another interesting fact. When the Greek warrior Odysseus went off to fight in the Trojan War, he left the son Telemachus in the care of a trusted guardian named Mentor. That's where the word mentoring comes from here for sure.
