How Do Juniors Compete in the NHL?
The average NHL team crosses the dot lane on something like 25% of their entries or exits. That's literally just in the action that gets the puck across either blue line. In junior, it's half of that. And at both levels, cross-ling plays resulted in more scoring chances. So if they don't start learning how to make lateral plays and transition, there's a real chance they won't be able to create off the rush in the NHL. The basic idea is inverting pressure.
