Is There a Difference Between Volume Control and Pressure Control?
On astist control, you are not maxed out at aat a maximum number of fluciport breaths. If the patient is still working hard to breathe and is still able to drop the pressure in the ventilator circuit below the trigger threshold, it will actually deliver another breath right on top of the last one. This means, of course, that you get double or triple intended title volume. For patients who we really feel like we need to control the title volumes somewhant with severe ar d s, we often will sedate them to the point where they are not even involved in the in the breath.
