In 19 98, a gang unit police officer named raphael perez was found to be stealing eight pounds of cocaine police locker. Parez talked about framing cases against some 100 people and implicated scores of other officers. Officers in the unit were awarded placs that celebrated incidents in which they had wounded or killed people. They had to go to a trophy store and order placs and fill out o petty cas to commemorate their violence.
