The Worst Seas in the World
Cape Horn is one place on the globe where the seas travel uninterrupted around the entire Earth. The winds can accelerate off into Hurricane Force and even reach 200 miles per hour. Herman Melfield, who later rounded the horn, compared it to a descent into hell in Dr. Ace Inferno. And so they're undermanned, the crews aren't in great shape. They cross the Atlantic, but when do things really start to go wrong?
