The History of the Telephone
Inventors bell and elisha grey both independently designed inventions that allowed people to transmit speech electrically. Both submitted their designs to the patent office within hours of each other. But bells was the first to be patented. And a famous legal battle ensued over who was the rightful inventor, with bell being the eventual winner. Phone technology slowly crept s america, creating a communications infra structure. By 19 30, it was possible to phone across the atlantic by radio.
