What Role Do the Virtues Play for Us to Day?

What role do the virtues play for us to day? Is is it just is it just for the sake of being virtuous? And i think that's where that shock came in in reading those books, with so much discussion about virtues. So o no, you don't hear people just talking abouti want to be virtuous just for ir virtue's sake. But what if the virtue is is a part of a larger purpose of of your life, and these, these virtues are guiding towards that that purpose. It's a part of that purpose, as opposed to just kind of a one off,. like being virtuous for the sakeof being virtuous.
