The End of American Textile Manufacturing

Up until 1980, up to 70% of American clothes were made right here in the country. Clothes from major brands like Lee and Carhart were still made by unions. After World War II, Japan's textile industry was decimated. The US government hatched this kind of wild plan: They were going to export our excess cotton to Japan.
