The Dream of the Chief Cup Bearer

Samuel Johnson: Joseph's station had been yo-yoing up and down from, you know, favorite son to in a pit to in slavery. He says throughout throughout it all, the favor of the Lord had not wavered. The cup bear forgets Joseph but that doesn't mean that God has forgotten Joseph because the Lord steadfast love continues even though the cup bear doesn't exercise that steadfast love. So we see that the Lord is showing steadfast love even to Joseph while he is here in prison.
