Until that point, South Carolina had flown a Confederate flag above its state house. And then Nikki Haley decided it had to come down. A number of years before the church shooting, the flag flew over the state house dome and there was a compromise to bring it down and fly it out front. Today, we are here in a moment of unity in our state without ill will to say it's time to move the flag from the Capitol grounds.
