The Effects of Heat Health Alerts on Mortality and Mortality

The heat health alert system has just recently changed, and previously it worked on the basis of reaching regional thresholds in temperature. It's now been developed into a slightly more sophisticated system that considers what the likely impacts are. As we see deaths go up, when you've had two days of daytime temperatures reaching 24.8 or more, those temperatures can be meaningful for vulnerable people. When we get into the high 30s and low 40s, you get healthy people at risk through overheated officers where people do not work and productively. Our infrastructure starts to buckle.
