The Art of Devising Interval Sessions

When you do these 60 minute FTP tests, for example, that's pretty good indicator of what your maximum lactate steady state is. When you cross that divide, you cross the rubicon, then blood lactate is going to just keep accumulating. And eventually you're going to say, I quit. That's enough. Too much. The first batch of five by eight minutes goes so hard that the second, third, fourth, fifth reps are terrible and they're quitting. Yeah. So that's the prescription that we give. But if I'm prescribing a session into my goal, it's for them to get 30 or 40 minutes of work."
