There's a peculiar gaze of those who are centered in the self or in God, especially at the moment when they are like Sahaja Samadhi. If their eyes are open, then you can see. The only way to describe it is the person's attention is focused on something transcendent, something within. Sri Ramakrishna gave an example of a bird sitting on its eggs. Eyes are open, but that attention is entirely there. In fact, he asked somebody to draw that picture for him. There's nothing quite like that gaze.
