Collectivism in Ireland

Sociologists say that collectivistic cultures have an interdependent sense of self. Ireland, ah was, they say, was fairly not trong. Had elements of collectivism in pre colonial times. We use the word mel to refer to this. Mel is like it's a gaelic, a galga word that means like a team. And i would imagine humans naturally should be collectivistic because we're social animals, co operative.
