MRI Freestanding - What's the Point?
Mark in Florida says on a recent podcast, a listener mentioned the high cost of MRIs and other tests that are being pushed by doctors and hospitals. He recently had to have an MRI and was quoted $5,367 for a single MRI at the facility that was recommended by the doctor. "Having a test done at a hospital being 20 times more expensive than it would be freestanding outside is kind of run of the mill," he says.
