I think it should be okay in the regard to speed. But yeah, the DOM API will probably still be a problem if you are going to use the DOM. The DOM is kind of a pile of crap as well because it's backwards compatible with whatever was written before like 10 years, 15 years, how long the internet existed. And yeah, you can remove stuff from there. So it's just getting more and more complex. It's basically, well, the way I see it is the browser offers you too much at once.
