Do you ever switch out of a neural network based algorithm, go to something simpler? Very good question. One of the things that we've found when we were working on a computer graphics solution at Huawei AI application to computer graphics was that conventional methods do not include machine learning. They work the best simply because it's quite hard to make deep learning models real time on mobile and those conventional techniques have provided us with sufficient quality while not consuming too much resources.
