Nero, the Young Emperor, Is a Spoiled Brat
Nero was proclaimed emperor at the young age of 17, a fact that many ancient historians point to as the reason for Nero's later corruption. He succeeded his grand uncle Claudius, an unlikely but surprisingly effective emperor who overcame a childhood stutter and became one of Rome's finest principles since Augustus. Many ancient historians openly accused Nero's mother, Agrippina, of poisoning Claudius in service of the young ambitious Nero. Even historians writing decades after Nero's death commented on the noticeable bias in the historical record.
